This was Sleighton lake. Once used as a swimming hole + water research facility, it has been reclaimed by nature.
This is an umbrella that belonged to the lifeguards of Sleighton.
Grounds view.
Vines take over Sleighton's powerlines. Most are down across the campus. Lights still stand nonetheless.
They didn't even bother taking out the air conditioner! This was on the horse barn.
Main street.
The boards on Campbell Cottage among others are aging. They no longer keep people out as they should.
The homestead's boards are doing a little bit better.
Nature is slowly but surely taking over Sleighton.
More nature devouring Campbell.
This was once the lot that accompanied Washington and Lincoln cottages, both of which have been burnt down.
Oh, hey Robinson Cottage!!
This light once lit the Lincoln and Washington parking lots.
It's that time of year again!
Gotta do anything we can to keep people out of Lucretia Mott Cottage.
This church was once so neat and beautiful. Not to discredit the graffiti though, some of it is cool. Just not the hate messages. People suck.
Looks like someone kicked down the window boards last week. Gives the church some lighting, but also makes it prone to faster water damage.
Here's how dark it was in the church with almost every window boarded up.
Which path would you take? The left one, of course! Sleighton looms over Sleighton Park, often attracting visitors over from the park.
More abandoned roadways.
Hard to believe that this land once used to be grass. It's impossible to walk on now.
There are tons of little sheds with ancient wawa crates in them around the grounds.
You can tell that Sleighton was once surrounded by farmland.
Sleighton looks so ominous from outside.
This ancient light has seen everything.
More board decay on the Martha P. School House.
Surprised that this porch hasn't collapsed yet.
Nobody bothered to board up the 3rd floor because they suspected that nobody would be able to get in from that height.
These lights and standing star were put on and leaned against this tree when it was very small. The tree is now lifting the star.
The Sleighton Hawks mascot.
One of the two remaining light fixtures that still hang inside the Church.
The water tower is beautiful. You can see it from all across the grounds.
Peeling much??
Look at how this tree devoured the gutter. Amazing.
Gotta ensure that every single window is boarded up. Even if it's half an inch thick!
This is the last building that still stands across the street from Sleighton. I am unsure of its legacy regarding Sleighton. It is abandoned and was probably inherited by somebody who doesn't have the money to maintain it.
